What items should be on my vacation rental checkout procedure?

I want to leave a checklist for guests so they don't forget anything before they leave.

Typically, it's a good idea to leave a checklist for guests before they leave your property. Tasks should be simple day-to-day cleaning that you'd do yourself on a Sunday afternoon: put furniture back in its proper place, take out the trash, tidy up the kitchen, throw out any food that might spoil, turn off all the lights, lock all the windows, reset any climate control and double-check drawers for personal items.

It's also a nice idea to leave a thank-you note and specify anything particular to your home you'd like to remind them of, be it parking access or outdoor maintenance.
