Get More Renters. Work Less.

I always get inquiries asking for my "best available rate." How should I respond?

Most of the inquiry emails I get are from travelers asking to negotiate or bargain for my best available rate.

If you're confident that your rates are level with your competitors, you have nothing really to fear. Your "best rates" are everyone else's "best rates". Reiterate what your home offers that makes it worth the cost that other homes lack, and stay firm on the price.

Rather than send out a generic response, try to respond to the emailer personally, to make sure he or she feels listened to.

On the other hand, if you're willing to handle a slight discount, calculate what makes sense for you and make the traveler happy -- they might turn into an excellent return customer.
