How do I collect taxes for my vacation rental?

I know I should be collecting taxes, but how do I keep track of them?

States differ with what they feel is the homeowner's legal responsibility to post their rates. You should be up-front about your rates, although some homeowners choose to roll their rates into a round-number price to make it easy for clients. It's easier for you, though, to do the necessary math if you separate them from your base rental price.
